Ducks
Project Type: Digital Painting
Programs Used: Adobe Photoshop + Adobe Fresco
Year: Spring 2021
I created Ducks in my Digital Painting class. In this project, I explored composition and digital painting in a post-impressionist art style.

To begin this project, I chose to use a photo of two ducks I had taken to create my digital painting from. The first layer of this project I created was an outline layer where I roughly sketched out the rock wall and ducks. I then created layers for each of the sections of the composition to add color and detail to. I completed the water section first and then moved on to the rock and duck sections. I was inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s post-impressionist and visible brushstroke painting style when I made this. The entire composition is made up of small different colored digital brush lines that when zoomed out, come together to portray the ducks and scene realistically.
